Space 4.0

New Actors, Competitions, and Challenges

On October 14, we had the pleasure to learn from Dr Timiebi Aganaba-Jeanty about the characteristics of the Space 4.0 era, the security implications of the new multi-stakeholder space environment as well as the best ways to build an inclusive space governance regime. An outer-space lawyer by training, Dr Aganaba-Jeanty worked at the Nigerian Space Agency and at the Canadian Space Agency (as a consultant) before joining Arizona State University as an Assistant Professor in the School for the Future of Innovation. Her current research explores participation mechanisms for global space governance.

We also addressed the main opportunities and challenges of working in the space field, as Dr Aganaba-Jeanty is an active supporter of bringing more women to the field. This event was moderated by Alice Billon-Galland, Research Associate at Chatham House and member of the WIIS-UK Leadership Team.

If you have missed the live event, you can still hear from Dr Timiebi Aganaba-Jeanty in this TED talk.
